Andreas Schmidt is the Chief Executive Officer of Proteona, a biotechnology company working on single cell biomedicine and immune-cell therapy. He is also a board member, advisor and mentor for several biotech companies and entrepreneurs and is an Asia oriented business strategist. He has expertise in leading several investment, merger & acquisition activities mainly between Asia and Europe. Prior to this, Andreas has served as the Chief Executive Officer at AYOXXA Biosystems and was responsible for expanding the company to more than 50 employees operating from three sites in Germany, Singapore and Boston. He raised more than 30 Million USD in venture capital. Andreas also serves as a Catalyst for the SMART Singapore MIT Alliance of Research and Technology as well as investment committee member of the equity crowd health investment platform Aescuvest in conjunction with the European Institute of Innovation and Technology EIT. He obtained a PhD in molecular and cell biology jointly from the University of Cologne Germany and the University of California, Berkeley.
