Alan Yau is the CEO of Athena Energy Holdings Ltd. He leads a team of professionals to develop, build, own and operate a portfolio of renewable energy assets. In terms of technology, Athena Energy is primarily focused on Solar Energy and has built a healthy pipeline of projects in Waste-to-Energy, Mini-hydro Energy, Onshore Wind Energy, and Energy Storage. Prior to joining Athena Energy, he was a senior APAC Regional Director where he was responsible for frontend advisory and consulting business in Southeast Asia and China. Alan has more than 20 years of experience in China in the Infrastructure, Water/Waste-Water Treatment, Energy (fossil and renewable), Facilities Management, Township Development, and Marine Engineering sectors. Alan has a proven track record in achieving positive business results by developing strategic business alliances, identifying new markets, and developing business processes. He has built an extensive network with key stakeholders in many sectors and provinces in China. Prior to this, he was a senior management professional at Sembcorp China Holding Ltd. where he oversaw the operation of a fleet of 27 utility companies, including water/waste-water treatment plants, gas-fired cogeneration plants, coal-fired power plant, and wind farms. Alan was instrumental in growing Sembcorp China's net profit from $9 million in 2010 to $100 million in 2015. Alan helped to cement a strong relationship with local partners and Government officials and led the team to resolve many difficult situations and conflicts, to achieve positive results.
