In 2008, Deeya was a member of a sea kayaking expedition along the west coast of Greenland. Trans Greenland Skiing Expedition: In May 2011, Deeya, at 17 years, became the youngest to have undertaken the Trans Greenland Skiing Expedition. Deeya's father, Ajeet Bajaj, and Deeya skied from the west to the east coast of Greenland, skiing 550 kms over 21 days, with ambient temperatures touching (-) 23 degrees Celsius. The Adventure Duo are the first Indians to ski across the Greenland Ice Cap. Their feat was acknowledged by the Limca Book of World Records (2012 edition). Deeya, then a student of The Shri Ram School, used her Trans-Greenland Expedition to collect funds for a project that was very close to her heart, to start a home for girl children of leprosy patients. In July 2012, Deeya summited the highest mountain in Europe, Mt Elbrus, 5642 m. Deeya and Ajeet are the first Indians to traverse Mt Elbrus from the North Side to the South Side (via the summit). In May 2018, Ajeet and Deeya became the first Indian father’s daughter duo to scale Mount Everest, the highest mountain in Asia. In October 2018, Deeya climbed Kilimanjaro, the highest point in the African continent. By now Deeya was well on her way to realizing her dream of attempting the Mountaineering Grand Slam of Seven Summits that is summitting the highest mountains in the seven continents. She had earlier hiked to the summit of Mount Kosciuszko, the highest mountain in Australia. On January 2, 2019 Ajeet and Deeya summited Mount Vinson, the highest mountain in Antarctica. In February 2019, Deeya summitted Aconcagua, highest mountain in South America. In May 2019, Ajeet and Deeya attempted Denali, the last of the their Seven Summits. They had to call of their expedition 3 hours short of summit because of bad weather. Deeya has done her advanced course in mountaineering from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM), Uttarkashi and was given the best trainee award after her Basic Course from NIM in 2012.Deeya is a proficient downhill and cross country skier. She is a keen white-water and sea kayaker. Deeya is a PADI certified Rescue Scuba Diver. A 2016 graduate of Cornell University (an Ivy League US college), Deeya was an Instructor for Cross Country Skiing and White Water Kayaking at her college. She was also coordinator for the Cornell wilderness pre-orientation program.
