Working with Daryl as my coach helped me enormously. Having worked as a journalist for 30 years, I was not short of confidence. But as a manager I was inexperienced, so Daryl helped give me the tools I needed to manage people at various stages in their careers. He also helped me to realise that good communication skills are vital to being an effective manager, probably in every walk of life. I also learned that where there is conflict at work between colleagues, or manager and team members, it is often caused by failure to communicate effectively. I consider myself lucky to have had Daryl as my coach, because of his approach: he gently guided me towards discovering the right path for myself.
