In 2020, what was to be my next big adventure, suddenly turned into a nightmare. I had just moved countries, had become a mom to a beautiful baby, when I was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. Statistics gave me a 25% chance of surviving beyond 5 years.
Life before that? I was a Talent Management and Leadership Development expert with 14+ years of corporate Human Resources experience across diverse sectors and organisations such as Consulting, NBFC, Real Estate and Communications. In my last corporate role, I was the Head of HR for a Private Wealth firm in India.
Back to 2020, life seemed to have different plans for me. My treatment just did not seem to end. Finally, in 2021, I decided to stop playing the waiting game and pivoted my life & career. I started building a future, so powerful, that I realised it was worth the fight.
I am now a Life & Career Coach, Leadership Trainer, Author and a Breast Cancer Awareness Advocate, apart from being a mom to a boisterous little toddler.
My passion to make a difference saw me take up Coaching as a career, to enable individuals to improve their performance, resilience, and well-being through enhanced self-awareness. I am also a caregiver coach for partners and families of individuals who have been diagnosed with a critical illness.
As part of breast cancer awareness advocacy, I speak in various organisations and the media in Singapore and India, encouraging women to take care of their health. Apart from that, I am also a motivational speaker where I focus on resilience and growth mindset.
Recently, I have co-authored a book (Don’t Ask Me How I’m Doing) on the journey and experiences of Adolescents and Young Adults (Age 17-39) diagnosed with a critical illness.
My 'mantra' through it all has been "You are stronger than your struggles".
