Akshay Nanavati is a United States Marine veteran, speaker, entrepreneur and author. As a young immigrant to the US, he overcame drug addiction and PTSD from fighting the war in Iraq with the Marines, alcoholism, and debilitating depression. Combining his life experience with years of research in neuroscience, psychology, and spirituality, he wrote the book Fearvana, which Dalai Lama and Jack Canfield endorsed. 

His goal as a speaker is to create mindset shifts that sustain for a lifetime. He has presented to audiences worldwide in multiple settings and contexts from middle schools to colleges to the YPO to Harvard University to Fortune 500 companies. Akshay also speaks on behavior change, happiness paradox, leadership, entrepreneurial mindset, and more.

Fearvana has also been featured on CNN, Forbes, Entrepreneur.com, Fast Company, INC, Bloomberg, ABC, NBC, and many other media outlets worldwide. All the proceeds from his book go to his non-profit organisation -  The Fearvana Foundation, which supports former child soldiers in West Africa to sex trafficking victims in India. Though not medically cleared, he is now an ultrarunner and a sponsored athlete.
