Emily Garside is a queer writer, presenter, DEI consultant, and LGBTQ+ educator. Author of seven non-fiction books, she draws on research, expertise, and lived experience to share insights into LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent lives. As an asexual, nonbinary, neurodivergent person, Emily blends personal experience with academic knowledge to educate and occasionally entertain. From exploring Section 28 to celebrating Queer Doctor Who, her work centers on the idea: "Know Your History." Emily believes many queer individuals are disconnected from their personal and community histories due to loss, censorship, and fear. Through her work, she seeks to reclaim and share these hidden stories, empowering LGBTQ+ people and their allies with knowledge of the past to shape a more inclusive future.
