Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd) is one of India’s most distinguished military leaders, with over four decades of service in the Indian Army. He has commanded troops in some of the most challenging environments — along the Line of Control, Line of Actual Control, and in counter-insurgency operations across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, and Sri Lanka. Renowned as the architect of the Hearts Doctrine, he pioneered a people-centric leadership approach built on empathy, communication, and trust.
Currently serving as a Member of the National Disaster Management Authority, Lt Gen Hasnain brings his extensive command experience and strategic acumen to leadership development beyond the armed forces.
