We all know what stress can do to our lives and how we react or respond to the stressful circumstances will affect our health.

Run:

When you run away from your stress, it gives you a false feeling that you have controlled the situation, though in reality you have simply avoided the stress temporarily. The up arrow also indicates the FLIGHT reaction to the stress.

Confront:

Your immediate perception about the situation is a possible threat to your own survival and hence the desire to combat. In this state thinking turns less than rational and fear of losing control is inflated. The front arrow shows the FIGHT reaction to your stress.

Hide:

The reaction from the brain when there is no action at all, out of shock. The physiology of the person would be alarmed stiff or crumpled. The idea is to shield whatever significance is leftover and to stay put. The down arrow shows the FREEZE reaction to your stress.

Mindful:

This is a state where you are in effect watching your stress rather living the stress. Instead of reacting to your stress, acknowledge it. Being mindful gives you ample choices. The back arrow suggests taking a step back and FLOW forward.

It’s good to dissolve stress by understanding whether you react or respond to such situations using this tool.

As we progress through our lives, we keep setting goals that we wish to achieve. Goal setting not only gives us a long term vision but achieving goals provides us with motivational boost to set even higher standards for ourselves.

Skill Set:

The idea here is gaining knowledge about the skills you need to build. This could be done through reading, listening, watching, networking and attending seminars or workshops. You can also sharpen skills by closely monitoring proven strategies that have worked elsewhere for similar goals. Last but not least, hire a Coach. Someone who is going to push your boundaries and have strong faith in your capability to achieve your goals.

Practice Set:

Building skills will not give you results unless you put them in practice.

Knowledge is only latent power, Application is the key.

Rights sort of environment with the challenging competition will help you beat your personal best. It also will provide you an opportunity to unlearn what’s not working & relearn what will work.

Mind Set:

First two steps only account for 20% of the work, the real magic is in this step. As you start practising the skills you built, you might get hit my negative emotions and environment. You will find every reason to quit and give up. Treat all this as confusions and focus on seeking clarity. When self-doubt appears, ask yourself this question – How will I feel when I achieve that dream of mine?
