He peered into the mirror at his reflection, pitting back the last strand of gelled hair, adjusted the knot of his tie in the center and wished good luck to the man before him. As Mr. Sharma walked out of the washroom and into the boardroom, no one could guess the bundle of nerves that he was a few minutes ago. He was poised, he was confident, he was ready to take on the room.

We live in a world of quick consumption, high expectation and easy accessibility. Irrespective of the brand you sell, people need to know that you have a follower of believers who like what you do, or believe in what you sell. A very easy tool today to access is “reference” which today translates as common contacts or common friends. We like to judge new people we meet by the people who already know them, further connecting if this relationship may be worth spending time on.

Confidence and assurance that your skills are optimum
‘People skills’ are one of the most important aspect I had to have while dealing with patients. Assuming a doctor’s knowledge is solid, if he is not able to comfort the patient with his counselling and verbal skills, he may lose the patient’s trust to come back to him again.
By the above 2 assets, let’s not assume that being social or updating statuses is a part of the game. May be you are busy building your real life work and empire that you just don’t have the time for that. The point is, let your work and presence be such that you are TALKED about. People’s choice still rules, and nothing amplifies this fact in today’s times more than the social media.
