Books, movies, articles, programs that can be named and there it will be \u2013 something on Mindfulness! New to the Western world, it is a concept that has been known and practiced in the East for hundreds of years!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">A yogi or a monk very well knew, practiced and lived a \u2018Mindful way of Life!\u2019<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1252 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/speakinedit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/monk-clipart-animated-5.jpg?resize=224%2C300&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n<\/div>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A look at what Mindfulness is:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Mindfulness is a psychological &amp; physiological process that focuses on being in the present state.<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Originally, the concept was linked to self-development and the emancipation from sufferings. That\u2019s the historical definition of the word. Sometime in the late 1970s, a professor from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Jon Kabat-Zinn gave birth to the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Program- the founding stone of modern mindfulness. <strong>For a layman, Mindfulness is nothing but to totally be in the present moment!<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Now, why is this so important?<\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It is only because people spend a lot of time \u2018<strong>revising\u2019 the past issues and \u2018worrying\u2019 about future possible challenges<\/strong>! What it does is steal the \u2018Possibility\u2019 in the present! A common quote says: \u2018<strong>Past is History, Future is a mystery, and current moment is a gift, hence called Present<\/strong>\u2019. Wow, isn\u2019t it? Now if one doesn\u2019t understand how to practise this, it just remains as a good quote! That\u2019s all.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When people spend a lot of time in the past or the future, they miss out on the highest possibility in the present and hence the advice \u2018<strong>Let go of the past<\/strong>\u2019. This is however easier said than done, especially if one doesn\u2019t know the \u2018HOW to Let Go\u2019 part of it. Another piece of advice casually passed around is \u2018Forget the past\u2019. Now, you can only forget your past, if you experience a memory loss! Let\u2019s say even if that happens and we forget the past, it will only lead to repetition of past mistakes!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The best way to live the \u2018Present moment\u2019 or practise \u2018True Mindfulness\u2019 is to work with the past and the future in such a way, that \u2018Living in the Present moment becomes totally possible!<\/h3>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">How can we do this?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1253 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/i1.wp.com\/speakinedit.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/Delete-the-Past-Spell.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" \/><\/figure>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Past <\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u2018All incompletions of Life will follow you, till the time you complete it\u2019<\/strong> \u2013 is one of my quote which signifies \u2018We can only let go things that are complete!\u2019 A positive day or an event is so complete that our mind can easily let go of it, but negatives are incomplete and hence will keep coming back to our mind. What has happened in the past cannot be changed. However, what we can do is \u2018Learn\u2019 and learn in a manner that when a similar event happens, we are ready for it in the present moment. Even if the past event was incomplete, extracting a strong learning from it, knowing it can improve the future can \u2018complete\u2019 it! Imagine if you knew there is nothing much to look forward to in the future, how would you feel today? Exactly! On the other hand, if you believe the future is great, you remain motivated in the present! Hence, organizations have Goals, it\u2019s all about the future. If you worry about it, you cannot give your best in the present moment. However, if you feel great about achieving it and its benefits, motivation in the present moment is never an issue.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>A few secrets to practise Mindfulness \u2013 <\/strong><\/h2>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li>Learn from the past \u2013<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Introspect and check, if similar events happen in the future what can you do differently to get better results?<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Check with your mentors on the learning if required.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li>Envision a great future \u2013<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Make a list of all positive things about the \u2018possible future\u2019<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Identify Goals which are very inspiring<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Jot down the highest benefits of achieving the goals<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\r\n<li><strong>Now, with these two areas at its best you will be able to give the best in the Present, be in the Present and enjoy the Present Moment. <\/strong><\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">These steps and much more in detail is also taught in my Signature seminars, relationship, performance and life coaching.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Also, one can practice mindfulness in small day to day activities like having food, a cup of tea, taking a bath, playing with your kid, having conversations with your spouse or parents \u2013 <strong>this is also called being in \u2018total integrity\u2019 with that task.<\/strong> Hence, an age old advise \u2018Don\u2019t talk while having food\u2019 its nothing but an advise to involve all your senses into the task \u2013 mindfulness!<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">When we are mindful, our experience epitomises and our results are profound. One my quote says \u2018You need not sit on the mountains to meditate, you can do it while having a cup of tea.
